No visit to Mt Maunganui is complete without a walk around or up The Mount. Its an easy 6km walk from the motel around the Mount and back on the Base Track. If you are feeling a little more energetic, walk to the top – especially great for the sunrise or sunset.

Aircraft are on display in the massive Classic flyers Hangar, from Jet Fighters to Bi planes, to the romance of a classic DC3. Scenic Flights are available too that cruise over Mount Maunganui and Matakan Island, Glider Flights and even a Boeing Stearman Bi Plane! A Boeing Stearman was a WW2 pilot trainer. Less than 9,000 of these were built in the USA during the 30’s and 40’s. So a flight on this beauty is an amazing opportunity.
